World Mental Health Day provides everyone with an opportunity to come together to talk about mental health. This year’s theme, set by the World Federation of Mental Health, is workplace mental health. The theme highlights the importance of addressing mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, for the benefit of people, organisations, And communities. 

In light of this important day, Scot JCB would like to highlight the important work that The Lighthouse Construction Charity carry out, and the support available to construction communities.

24/7 Construction Industry Helpline

The Lighthouse Construction Charity have a 24/7 helpline offering free and confidential support, covering a wide range of issues. Expert helpline advisors are just one call away from a listening ear and are able to provide additional support when necessary!

If the caller is experiencing a complex issue that needs multiple interventions, The Lighthouse Construction Charity have caseworkers who specialise in providing  support. They work with third party organisations to ensure that callers receive the best support and have access to all to the possible help available.

In addition to the helpline, you can request a call or email from a one of The Lighthouse Charity’s advisors.

If you find talking uncomfortable, or you can’t find space for a private phone call, The Lighthouse Construction Charity offers 24/7, free, and confidential support over text.

The charity have multiple trained volunteers who are there to listen to what you’re comfortable sharing, whether that be that you’re stressed, anxious, suicidal, or simply struggling with everyday life.

Do You Want to Further Your Mental Health Knowledge?

The Wellbeing Academy involves learning through e-learning, online tutor led sessions, and onsite training. Additionally, there are a variety of courses available, from soft skills training to MHFA accredited qualifications.

E-learning, Individual, and MHFA wellbeing support courses are available now for you to register. These are free of charge.

The MHFA accredited courses are also online tutor led courses but they have a fee and must be booked. If you work for a company who supports The Lighthouse Construction Charity, then these courses are free.
